Lifetime Experience Safaris cannot guarantee that your stay at an accommodation facility will be 100% satisfactory. We can only go on the experience of our guests and their comments and personal visits. When we recommend a lodging facility it is because many of our customers have spoken or written favorably of this facility. We recommended that you do not have to base expectations on the experience of your country where "everything is available". Try being flexible and have a better understanding of your lodging choice, let the differences be part of your African Adventure. You will be enjoyably surprised by the quality of service you will receive.
Budongo Eco Lodge Forest (moderate):
The room was comfortable and you will simply love the location in the forest. There's nothing like waking up to the sound of the forest all around you. The main building of the lodge is rustic and well maintained and the candlelight adds to the atmosphere. The food is excellent, the veg curry with chapatti (local flat bread).
You may simply enjoy their fresh fruits at breakfast with eggs cooked to order-and you can't get enough Ugandan chai! It’s interesting to stay at a location that takes its eco credentials seriously were talking compost toilets and solar energy. No in-room electricity, no mini bar, no tv. So if these are essentials this is not the place for you. Nor does it offer five star dining - more student cafe fare but reasonably priced and plentiful, you won't go hungry
The draw is of course the chimpanzees. This lodge is nestled into the forest and you'll hear monkey, baboon and chimp calls throughout the night (so maybe avoid if you're worried by things that go bump in the night) - it really makes you feel close to the nature you've come to see.
It is the perfect place to stay if you are planning to go chimpanzee tracking and or birding in the Kaniyo Pabidi portion of Budongo Forest.
Tasty meals are part of the overnight package if you stay in a cottage, but there is also a dormitory with clean and comfortable beds at reasonable prices.
It is a true eco-lodge, not just in name but in practice and that is commendable.
Stay at the Main Area of Murchison Falls park one or two nights then transfer here. Park fees still apply, 24 hours is 30 USD for Foreign Resident. Chimpanzee Tracking at Kaniyo Pabidi is at 8 am or 2 pm in the afternoon-about 3 hours in length.
