Lifetime Experience Safaris cannot guarantee that your stay at an accommodation facility will be 100% satisfactory. We can only go on the experience of our guests and their comments and personal visits. When we recommend a lodging facility it is because many of our customers have spoken or written favorably of this facility. We recommended that you do not have to base expectations on the experience of your country where "everything is available". Try being flexible and have a better understanding of your lodging choice, let the differences be part of your African Adventure. You will be enjoyably surprised by the quality of service you will receive.
The lodge is beautifully situated at the rim of a small crater with a crater lake at the bottom. The views from the main building and the individual cottages are stunning. Peeping down at the crater lake, the rolling hills surrounding you and the Rwenzori Mountains as the perfect backdrop that place is so beautiful and peaceful. Kyaninga is situated perfectly for exploring the Fort Portal area. If you don't fancy moving a lot, you can walk around the Crater Lake (beautiful walk!) or climb down the 200-something stairs to the lake for a dip.
Kyaninga boasts Uganda's only lawn tennis court which is set next to a boules court amidst gardens that were designed by a London-based garden architect with, no doubt, the best (possibly in Uganda) intentions but with a tenuous grasp of gardening in the tropics. The make and design of the lodge is an engineering wonder.
The cottages are spacious and tastefully decorated with big verandas and great views, - large beds. The rooms at Kyaninga should not be called 'rooms'... they are houses/cottages with the largest double beds...you will be surprised. But the real highlight here are the bathrooms. Gorgeous bath-tubs with lemon-grass scented bubble-bath...oh my God!...would make you love this place forever.
Room Tip: Ask for the room with the lake view instead of a forest view...significantly different experience.
The staff and management at Kyaninga lodge really good and cautious! They are very helpful and service minded; ..... the welcome makes you feel at home. The design of the lodge is quite unique with lots of stairs to climb where ever you go - so perhaps not the best choice for people with walking difficulties.
Another thing that you would love and praise is the food! This is by far some of the best food you would have in Uganda Safari lodges. Unique menu for each meal after which one can retire to the bar and have a relaxed conversation by the fire-place. Nothing pretentious or fancy, but very honest and tasty food (which comes in big portions!) prepared with locally grown veggies and herbs. All meals are a delight!
You will enjoy every minute of your stay and definitely love and recommend them!
