Don't make the mistake of staying in Buhoma – 3hrs away, ... (or elsewhere outside Ruhija) if you get permits for the Bitukura or Oruzogo Gorilla groups.
You would stay at this lodge and in Ruhija for the views alone are worth it and skip the more touristy area of Buhoma

Ruhija Gorilla Safari Lodge $$$ (Up-Market Luxury)
This is an excellent place to stay if you are planning a gorilla trek. The lodge is just few minute drive to the Impenetrable National Park. The lodge location is the best part of all. Unlike other lodges, it is placed right next to the entry point to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Therefore you do not have to wake up at 4.00am to catch up with the morning briefing.
Ruhija Safari Lodge is a local owned hotel, very clean, comfortable, eco-friendly, enriching place to stay The staff are very attentive, working very hard to make you feel comfortable and prepared for your hike.
Returning from the moderate hike, the staff provides you with hot towels and drinks, clean up your boots and gaiters after each hike. The hotel has breath taking views of the mountains. The surrounding environment that includes the local community lifestyle, the deep vegetation and breathtaking landscape that you will enjoy from the comfort of the balconies gives memorable and a unique experience.
The food is delicious and the fruit and vegetables sourced locally are so wonderfully fresh. The kitchen/chef is very flexible and nothing seems too much trouble. If you are a vegetarian, they have awesome veggie curry, grilled veggie for packed lunch and veggie pizzas. Nice Spanish omelets for breakfast. The packed lunches suffice for tracking which include a sandwich, fruit and cold meat or hard boiled eggs.
Nights are usually cold, you will appreciate the fireplace in the restaurant/bar is a great place to end the evening with a drink. Large towels, and extra blankets provided - Hot water bottles in your beds - and again thoughtful touches.
The rooms have hot running water, nicely decorated and furnished with comfy chairs on the verandah. This is a delightful place to sit and recover from our long gorilla trek - watching the sunbirds on the garden flowers, further away the mist over the forest and listening to the drumming from the local village. Part of the village is just below the lodge so it feels more in the community than in most lodges.
It's only a short way to the gorilla registration for the Oruzogo and Bitukura in Bwindi Gorilla National park 
gorilla groups,..... so nice not to have a long drive before the day even started.
The lodge mostly run on generator, keep this in mind when charging various electronics, including your camera (which will be extremely important when you go to see the gorillas!). Some may see this as a negative, but keep in mind the location and set your expectations accordingly. On the other hand, there is an AirTel tower about 50 meters away so you get great phone reception for being deep in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. – They provide you with a dongle for internet connections.
Also note-- there is a massive difference in room quality between the dorms and the cabins. The dorms have squat toilets, which are out of place with the western experience the rest of the hotel provides. The separated cabins themselves are quite nice
